PWS is an official member of the BSIF.

Member Obligations

As a member of the BSIF, PWS are committed to participating in the scheme by:

  • Signing a binding declaration that all products meet all appropriate requirements and standards, and that specific product performance claims are genuine.
  • Trading honestly and ethically.
  • Submitting PPE products to random annual testing to indicative performance clauses for any standard claimed.
  • Committing to the education of customer facing staff to ‘The Safe Supply Course and Qualification’.
  • Complying with the Obligations and Responsibilities required by Regulation 2016/425 on PPE.
  • Having the capability to process product recalls and other corrective actions.

BSIF Logo 2018 The BSIF logo is a signpost for customers to ensure they are buying compliant products from a reputable company. Safety equipment is often used in high risk areas and are life-saving products. The requirements, from product testing to staff courses, mean members are required to make an explicit effort to meet all safety standards across the entire business.

The BSIF is the UK’s leading association for PPE Regulation 2016/425. The Federation works closely with Regulators, including across a range of Government departments, and continues to pioneer legislation and policies, leading the way in the evolving regulatory landscape.
